La Area Church of Pentecost launches “Agents of Peace” campaign ahead of 2020 elections

The La Area of the Church of Pentecost (COP) has launched the “Agent of Peace Campaign”, an initiative by the Church to preach peace before, during and after the General Election.

The Campaign was launched in the La Area with a call on every Ghanaian to be ambassadors of peace, before, during and after the 2020 elections.

The programme was marked with a peace walk from the La Area Head Office of the Church of Pentecost through some principal streets in the Ayawaso North Municipality to the Dr. Wyatt Assembly at Kokomlemle, where the official launch was held.

The congregants were joined by all pastors in the area, Muslims and traditional leaders and other opinion leaders from the municipality and beyond.

The Head of the Church of Pentecost at La Area, Apostle John Osei Amaniampong, urged all agencies and bodies to play their roles critically to ensure peace before, during and after the Dec. 7 election.

The Greater Accra Regional Director of the National Commission on Civic Education, Lucille Hewlett Annan cautioned the youth against vigilantism.
