Former Energy Minister and NPP National Chairman hopeful of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Boakye Agyarko, has declared that his primary mission as National Chairman will be to secure victory for the party in the 2028 general elections and ensure Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia becomes President.
Mr. Agyarko made the bold declaration at his campaign office when a coalition of Regional Chairmen on Tuesday August 5,2026 presented a nomination form for him to contest for the National Chairmanship position
According to him, the NPP must unite, rebuild its structures and effectively mobilise its grassroots supporters if it is to return to power in 2028.
He said the National Chairman must provide strong and decisive leadership capable of bringing the party together while creating the conditions necessary for electoral victory.
Mr. Agyarko stressed that achieving the objective would require unity, effective grassroots mobilisation and a renewed commitment from party members and supporters.
He said the NPP must learn from its past experiences and focus on strengthening its internal structures ahead of the 2028 elections.
The National Chairman hopeful added that the party’s leadership must work collectively to restore confidence among its supporters while reaching out to floating voters and other groups whose support would be critical to the party’s return to power.
He further called for discipline, teamwork and a clear political strategy as the NPP prepares for the next electoral contest.
Mr. Agyarko maintained that the party’s ultimate goal should be to present a united front and mount an effective campaign capable of winning back the presidency.
He urged party members to put aside individual interests and work towards the collective objective of rebuilding the NPP and securing victory in 2028.
According to him, the task ahead is clear: unite the party, strengthen its structures and mobilise effectively to ensure Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia leads the NPP to victory in the 2028 general elections.
