A 25- year -old man has reportedly passed on after taking part in an 'Akpeteshie' drinking contest at Ntankorful, a suburb of Takoradi.
According to information available to Atinkaonline.com the deceased, whose name was given as Hamza, collapsed and died Friday while competing with another guy for the best “Akpeteshie drinker” title.
According to information gathered at the scene of the incident, the deceased after consuming four bottles of 'Akpeteshie', (locally distilled alcohol) collapsed and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
His contender who reportedly became unconscious after taking four bottles of 'Akpeteshie' was, however, resuscitated after his friends fed him with mashed Kenkey.
