Pregnant women in Tarikpa walk for hours to access healthcare; Cry for hospital

Pregnant women in Tarikpa, a farming community in the Gusheigu District of the Northern Region over the years have had to walk kilometers to seek for healthcare in different communities.
This is due to lack of CHIP’s compound in their community; a visit to the community by Atinka news revealed.
In an interview, the Assembly Man of the community, Mr Baba Iddrisu confirmed to the news team that pregnant women always traveled to different communities for antenatal and child welfare.
According to him, the situation has affected healthcare system in the area.
He therefore appealed to government and Non governmental organizations to construct a CHIPs compound in the area.
Mr Baba Iddrisu also revealed that a piece of land has been secured for the construction of the facility.
