The Presbyterian University College, Ghana – Tema Campus students were introduced to emotional intelligence on Saturday, the 31st of March, 2019. This forms part of the ongoing introductory EQ lectures aimed at building emotional strength of the students, a collaboration between Addison International Center for Emotional Intelligence (AICEI) and the Presbyterian University College, Ghana (PUC, Ghana).
The occasion coincided with SRC week celebrations and the students used the occasion to donate items to the Children ward of the Tema General Hospital putting into practice empathy a very valuable life skill.
The Women Commissioner of the PUC, Ghana Tema Campus, Mrs. Beauty Aku Setorglo, urged all other students groups and the general public to donate to support others at every opportunity that comes their way no matter how small it may be. The administrator of the Children’s ward was very grateful to the students for the items donated.
The coordinator of the school, Mr. Amegbe congratulated the students for such initiative and advised them to make this an integral part of their SRC week celebrations.
Speaking to the Atinka TV after the lecture, the head of the Institutional Advancement Section of the University, Mr. Amoah Kwaku Karikari expressed the University’s commitment to ensuring that students are well prepared to enhance their leadership potentials, resilience and employability.
In a closing remarks Mr. James Kwesi Addison commended the students for exhibiting Empathy one of the most important building blocks of emotional intelligence by donating to the Tema General Hospital Children’s ward.
