The Dabala District Court in the Volta Region has again remanded into police custody the three suspects linked to the murder of a 12-year-old boy at Mafi Dove in the Central Tongu District.

 John Evans Ocran, who presided over the case remanded the trio again to re-appear on September 29 after Sgt Nene Oman, police prosecutor asked the court to allow their outfit to gather more evidence for prosecution.

  It will be recalled that on Sunday, August 29, suspect, Doe Tsidi, an Okada rider lured the deceased to the bank of ‘Blakoe’ stream and murdered him.

 Doe Tsidi, 22, alias ‘land guard’ who is the prime suspect allegedly committed the crime with a 60-year-old woman, Elizabeth Adiku Okudjeto, and 52-year-old Froda Ekpe, leader of Shelter Pentecostal Ministry at Mafi Aflokope.

Police sources said the decapitated body of Kofi Kuzagbe, was deposited in the stream, and his head transported to Aflokope where it was hidden on a farm.

The Police have retrieved the knife allegedly used in committing the crime.

A repeat application for bail moved by lawyer for the taxi driver, Felix Ansah who allegedly confessed to the killing of several people for rituals on live TV has been dismissed by an Accra Circuit Court

The accused person has been remanded into Police custody to reappear on September 28.

In court on Thursday, September 16, 2021, the prosecutor, Inspector Princess Tetteh Boafo said the suspect had mention some places (where the supposed acts were committed) around the country that require them to travel across the country for more investigation. However, his Lawyer Theophilus Donkor argued that the prosecution had only come to court with an empty sheet for the court to fill for them.

According to him, the case against his client is more of a spiritual thing than it looks and should be admitted to bail thus, he described the invitation to remand the accused person into custody as being in “bad taste.”

The court presided over by judge Rosemond Baah Torsu said the time given to the prosecution to reappear today was so short therefore, refused the repeat application for bail and adjourned the case to September 28, 2021.

Meanwhile the suspect’s lawyer also drew the court’s attention to the concerns that his client was not being fed in custody but the prosecutor said she was only hearing that concern for the first time and assured the court that the concerns of the accused person will be addressed.
