Sgt Daniel Abotsi of the Konongo Police Division and his daughter died on the spot on Monday after their vehicle collided with a Metro Mass bus at Amanase near Suhum in the Eastern Region.
According to police report, the police officer and his daughter were heading to Kuamsi in an Opel Astra private car with registration number GT 1742 – 12 when the incident occurred.
“On reaching a section of the road at Amanase near Suhum he veered off his lane into the opposite direction lane and collided head -on with a Metro Mass Transit Bus with registration number. GR 4732 – Z driven by Seidu Clifford age 42 yrs from Koforidua towards Accra with passengers on board,” the report said.
The report further stated that the officer the daughter died on the spot as a result. Their bodies have deposited at Suhum Government Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
Driver of the Metro Mass bus, Seidu Clifford has been detained to assist in investigation.
