Tema: Major disaster averted as Fire Officers  douse  gas pipeline fire

A timely response by personnel of the Ghana Fire Service prevented what could have been a major catastrophe  Friday Morning following a fire outbreak that engulfed an LPG booster station belonging to  Quantum Oil in Tem

Firefighters from the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and the Ghana National Fire Service prevented the fire from spreading from the LPG booster station, which shares boundaries with other oil pipelines belonging to companies including VALCO and Tema Oil Refinery, among others.

There were earlier reports on social media that the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) pipeline infrastructure had been in flames, but further checks confirm that the fire outbreak did not occur on TOR’s pipeline.

Investigations have since been commenced to unravel what might have triggered this morning’s inferno which officials of Quantum Oil say could affect their production as well as incurring some cost.
