What is Christmas all about?

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in humble surroundings, but His heart was full of greatness and love. This love towards all human beings was only growing day by day.

Why did Jesus come to this planet? Why did God send his Son into our world?

Let’s look deeper into the most wonderful massage of all.

Christmas is all about God’s love

The coming of Jesus is the most wonderful proof of God’s love towards us. Bible says that God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

Christmas is all about God’s kindness

The name of Jesus means “God saves”. In His name we have hope, forgiveness, redemption and salvation. Bible says: “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”(Romans 10:9-10)

Christmas is about light that shines in the darkness

When we experience God’s love with open heart, we also experiences peace, kindness, mercy and forgiveness. Light starts to shine in the darkness, and we become born again and renewed. Bible says: “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Christmas reminders to love others

When we come to know Jesus and His saving grace, how can we not share this love with people around us? His loving kindness overwhelms us so much that we start sharing kindness with those in need. Jesus once share two most important commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31)

Christmas is more than just a day

Christmas is about the new way of life, filled with grace, kindness and love. On this Christmas day, remembering how deeply God loves us, let’s be kind and loving towards each other and rejoice because the Saviour has come into the world!

Merry Christmas!
