The Ministry of Defence has organised an orientation programme at The Square to induct newly posted civil servants into the Ministry and familiarise them with the operations of defence administration.

The programme was designed to provide the new personnel with a clear understanding of the Ministry’s mandate, administrative structure and the roles they are expected to perform in their new positions.

As part of the orientation, the civil servants were introduced to the institutional systems and processes that guide the Ministry’s work, as well as the professional standards expected of personnel working within the defence administration.

The initiative is intended to ease the transition of the newly posted staff into their respective roles and equip them with the knowledge needed to effectively carry out their responsibilities.

The Ministry said the orientation would help ensure that the new personnel understand how their individual duties fit into the broader mandate of the institution.

It also provides an opportunity for the newly posted civil servants to become familiar with the working environment and expectations of the Ministry as they begin their assignments.

The programme forms part of efforts to strengthen administrative capacity and promote professionalism among personnel within the Ministry of Defence.
