The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, says the arrest and detention of party members will not intimidate or discourage the opposition from carrying out its constitutional mandate of holding the government accountable.
His comment follows the arrest and detention of the former Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on Saturday.
According to him, the arrest of Dennis Miracles Aboagye and any similar actions against party officials will not silence the NPP or weaken its resolve to scrutinise the activities of the government.
Interacting with the media after his visit to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Justin Kodua maintained that the NPP remains resolute despite what he described as increasing pressure on its members.
He however expressed his disappointment that EOCO as it stands now has not even interrogated Dennis Miracles Aboagye to ascertain whether he committed the charges against him.
