A four-unit residential property belonging to former NDC Weija-Gbawe Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Musa Adams, has reportedly been demolished at Mahnet in the Greater Accra Region.
The property, which is located on a 1.5-acre parcel of land and was still under development, was reportedly pulled down on Friday, September 18, 2026, by a team of police personnel accompanied by an excavator.
According to Alhaji Adams, the team arrived at the property in the early hours of Friday and proceeded to demolish the structure.
He said the exercise left the building in ruins and expressed concern about the circumstances surrounding the demolition.
Alhaji Adams, who says he has been in possession of the land since 2012, questioned the legal basis for the exercise. He claimed that the personnel at the scene did not present a court order or other legal documentation authorising the demolition.
He further said he had previously faced legal challenges concerning the property and had pursued the matter through the courts.
According to him, he was therefore surprised that personnel he identified as being from the Police Property Fraud Unit would be involved in the demolition without, in his account, showing him the documents authorising the exercise.
Alhaji Adams also questioned statements reportedly made by some of the personnel that they were acting on “orders from above”.
He said if the exercise was based on a lawful directive, he expected the relevant documentation to be presented to him.
The former constituency chairman said he had already petitioned the police administration and other relevant state institutions over the matter and appealed for an investigation into the demolition.
He also expressed concern over what he described as the use of influence to interfere in private property disputes, and called for the authorities to establish who authorised the exercise and the legal basis for the action.
Alhaji Adams has appealed to the Inspector-General of Police and the Minister for the Interior to intervene and investigate the circumstances surrounding the demolition.
Meanwhile, attempts by this reporter to obtain an official response from the Greater Accra Regional Police Command had not yielded results at the time of filing this report.
The circumstances surrounding the demolition, including who authorised the exercise and whether any court order or other legal instrument was issued, therefore remain unclear.
