I was one in a million because I had all the qualities –Asamoah Gyan

Black Stars legend Asamoah Gyan, also referred to as Baby Jet has stated that, when comparing his performance to that of the current Black Stars players, he feels his career quality was one in a million.

Although most Ghanaians are condemning the current Black Stars players for their poor performance at the Afcon and other friendly matches, Gyan noted in an interview with Atinka TV’s “KICK OFF SHOW” that they are still giving it their all for the country and urged them to put in more effort.

Gyan said, ‘It will be difficult to get a striker who has everything in football; heading, dribbling ability, good passes, shooting, outstanding free kicks, goal scoring and I thank God I was gifted with all these’.

After Asamoah Gyan’s football retirement, Ghana has not gotten a striker whose performance can be related to him.

Asamoah Gyan has been Ghana’s all-time leading goal scorer amassing a total of 51 goals in 109 appearances for the National Team.

He also retired holding the record for the highest number of goals scored by any African player in the history of the World Cup with a tally of six goals.

He further emphasized that the best goal he had ever scored was against England when he scored a late goal at Wembley Stadium to deny the three lions of England a win in a friendly match against the Black Stars. It was Ghana’s first-ever game against England.

He told Atinka TV that his prayer for the next generation who will take over the black Stars will clinch the African Cup of Nations Champions.
