Mahama will lose 2020 election to me- Kofi Akpaloo

The Founder and Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Percival Kofi Akpaloo has predicted that despite the fact that the NDC’s have elected Ex-President John Dramani Mahama as its flagbearer, he will not win the 2020 election.

He argued that as the Flagbearer of the LPG, God revealed to him that he will be the next president and therefore Mahama cannot be a threat to his victory.

Kofi Akpaloo was speaking on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie on Tuesday, where he also dared all prophets who have predicted win for Mahama to go back to God and inquire from him the real winner of the 2020 election.

“Mahama will not win 2020 election. I will beat him hands down when it is left with him and I. God revealed to me that I will win 2020 election. You will leave home with the intention of going to vote for Mahama but when you get to the polls you will change your mind and even when you vote for him, it will change for my favour,” he said.

“The prophets should go and ask God to reveal the next President to them and they will see it is me; Mahama will not be President again,” he added.

Kofi Akpaloo who seemed to have made Mahama his target for the 2020 election said, “Mahama has been a president before and should give us chance to come on board; if it is not money that he wants, what is making him come back.”

Meanwhile, he condemned the manner in which the NDC’s presidential primaries was conducted, saying that Mahama’s win was an endorsement and not a free election.

On the other hand, the National Youth Coordinator for the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Divine Nkrumah congratulated Mahama for his win, although he wished the NDC’s would have elected a different flag-bearer for the party.

According to him, all the mechanisms that were put in place before the election went in favour of Mahama, alleging that even the leaders who were supposed to be in charge of the election campaigned for Mahama.

“I wish them well but there were some concerns that must be addressed especially with the machinations and manipulations which were geared towards mahama,” he said.

Nkrumah also argued that Mahama’s win was a true reflection of the Ghanaian mentality, explaining that when it comes to elections, most Ghanaians go back to do the same thing when they are given the chance to re-write their mistake due to their initial affiliations.

“Mahama’s win is a reflective of the Ghanaian mentality. Anytime we are given the opportunity to re-write our mistake, we mostly end up doing the same thing. But one thing that I have also observed is that delegates must be feared,” he added.
