Make Tarkwa The Model Of World Class Municipality – MCE To Stakeholders

The Municipal Chief Executive of Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, Gilbert Kenneth Asmah has called on stakeholders to support his vision of making the assembly the model of world class municipality with an improved healthcare delivery to the people.
He said access to healthcare services has been one of the major area of concern to the assembly, adding that plans are far advanced for the construction of a polyclinic at Nsuaem.
This according to the MCE is part of measures outlined to address the problem faced in the area of quality healthcare delivery.
He revealed that the project is a collaboration between some donor partners and the ministry of Ministry Of Health with support from the assembly.
The MCE made the remarks at the meet-the-press engagement at the assembly’s conference hall at Tarkwa.
The meeting was an initiative of the ministry of information in collaboration with the ministry of local government and rural development to create a platform for various MMDCEs to present to the media the state of implementation of government infrastructural development projects, policies and programmes in their respective metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies.
It was also to enable the assembly gather the relevant feedback of the public reactions on such policy, interventions, development, projects, and programmes through the media to the government to aiding further reinforcement.
Giving an overview of the Assembly’s performance under the President Akufo-Addo’s led government, the MCE said government consider education as topmost priority in developing the human resources of the country.
According to him, besides the successful implementation of free senior high school education policy, government instituted the district scholarship scheme in 2019 to give opportunity to individuals who will qualify to further their education at the tertiary levels are not denied due to financial incapabilities.
“The Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal is working in line with this mission, I am glad to announce that 45 tertiary students pursuing various programmes at the universities, technical universities, nursing training and colleges of education were awarded scholarships amounting to 80,000 million cedis.
To this end, the MCE disclosed that his outfit is working tirelessly with the municipal education oversight committee and the Ghana Education Service Directorate to mount up strategies that will help improve BECE performance in the municipality.
He therefore indicated that the Member of Parliament in an attempt to boost education performance in the area has also supplied furnitures to some Basic Schools across the municipality to facilitate teaching and learning aside what the assembly has also distributed.
