Mastery and enthusiasm for work key to success – 2020 Best Teacher

Ghana’s 2020 best Teacher, Eric Asomani, says mastery in field of work , innovation as well as  enthusiasm towards work is the key to success .

Eric Asomani, who teaches ICT at the Naylor Seventh Day Adventist School in Tema Community 6, says he has over the past 10 years declined to be selected and nominated by his school for the award.

39-year-old Eric Asomani  who has over 12 years of experience in teaching was adjudged the Most Outstanding Teacher in Ghana at the National Teachers’ Day Celebration at the University of Cape Coast in the Central Region.

Eric Asomani teaches Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Integrated Science at the Naylor Seventh Day Adventist School in Tema.

He received a 3-bedroom house worth GHC180,000.00 and other assorted items  for emerging Most Outstanding Teacher in Ghana.

1st runner-up, Gloria Anima Junior, a  teacher at Aboabo No. 4 Presbyterian Primary school,  took home a 4 X 4 double cabin pick-up truck.

Second runner-up,  Mrs Sandrah Osei of the Akwatia Technical Institute also picked up a saloon car.

17 other teaching and non-teaching staff were awarded fridges, laptops, flat screens and other assorted prizes.

In an interview with host of Atinka FM’s AM Drive,  Ekourba Gyasi, Eric Asomani, said he believes his hard over the years has been rewarded.

He noted that aside Naylor Seventh Day Adventist School , he has over 4 private  schools where he teaches.

Asked whether his area of teaching is the reason for the award, Eric Asomani explained that all other subjects are special, but he believes his innovation and enthusiasm for the teaching job was the reason for the award.
