NPP chair condemns attack on Tamale Hospital

The Northern Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mohammed Adam Baantima Samba, has refuted claims that some thugs who attacked the CEO for the Tamale Regional Hospital are members of the NPP.

A group of thugs believed to be members of the NPP’s Kandahar vigilante group, on Monday 13th August, allegedly attacked and sacked managers of the Tamale Teaching Hospital out of their offices.

The group reportedly attacked and locked up the office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr David Zaawumya Kolbila first before proceeding to the offices of the managers.

In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, Mohammed Adam Baantima Samba stated that it will be unfair to conclude that those boys involved in the incident are members of the NPP.

According to him, the NPP Regional Youth Organizer has been tasked to assist the Northern Regional Police command in their investigations and bring to book any youth of the Northern Region NPP found culpable.

“The Kandahar group is  made up of both  combination of NPP and NDC youth in the North, so when you meet a Kandahar boy, you have to make proper investigations to know whether those you met are members of the NPP or not, you cannot just draw a conclusion,” he said.

He condemned the incident and assured the general public that the Northern Regional NPP will assist investigations until Justice prevails.

Meanwhile,  Staff of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) have threatened a strike action to express their displeasure over the attack on the hospital.
