PM For LADMA Elected Dean Of Presiding Members In Greater Accra

Presiding Member, PM for La DadeKotopon – LADMA, Hon. Emmanuel Nyarko Baah Elected Dean of Presiding Members in Greater Accra. 

In an unprecedented display of trust and recognition, Hon. Emmanuel Nyarko Baah, a fifth-term Assembly Member in La Constituency and the incumbent Presiding Member of La DadeKotopon Municipal Assembly, has been unanimously elected as the Dean of Presiding Members in Greater Accra.

Hon. Emmanuel Nyarko Baah took over from the outgoing Dean of PM, Hon. Joseph Korto.

His remarkable political journey, marked by three consecutive terms as Presiding Member and a steadfast commitment to public service since 2006, exemplifies his dedication to advancing the interests of his constituents and strengthening local governance structures.

Hon. Nyarko Baah throughout his tenure, Hon. Nyarko Baah has chaired pivotal committees such as the Public Relations and Complaints Committee, Disaster Sub-Committee at AMA, and Works Sub-Committee at LaDMA. His extensive experience and proactive approach to governance have earned him respect and admiration among his peers and constituents alike.

Additionally, his role as an ADR practitioner underscores his commitment to fostering dialogue and resolving conflicts amicably within the community.

His election appointment takes effect immediately after the election on Wednesday Apirl 3rd, 2024.

The Office of the Dean is to preside over all the 29 Presiding Members in the Greater Accra region, provides a proactive and responsive representation to the presiding members in the region about ways of enhancing the quality of its members

Some of the key duties is also to maintains cordial relations among all assembly members as a whole so that they obtain optimum benefit from their various assemblies. 

This is done through support, provision of resources, advocacy, innovative programmes and needed referral for all presiding members.

Skills, competencies and strengths:

As the newly elected Dean of Presiding Members, Hon. Nyarko Baah assumes a crucial leadership position at a pivotal moment for local governance in Greater Accra. With 11 MMDAs yet to elect their Presiding Members, his immediate priority, in collaboration with other executives such as Hon. Alfred Asiedu Adjei and Hon. Osabutey, will be to facilitate the resolution of internal issues to ensure a seamless transition and effective functioning of all MMDAs.

However, Hon. Nyarko Baah’s vision extends beyond administrative duties. He envisions a future where the welfare and empowerment of Assembly members and Presiding Members take precedence.
