Star Assurance staff of the northern sector completes emotional intelligence training

The staff of the Star Assurance in the Northern Sector of the country has undergone two days of training in emotional intelligence in Kumasi the capital city of the Ashanti region. The training was organised over the weekend to ensure all staff partake in such an important capacity building training.

The Northern Sector comprises the staff of Kumasi main, Suame, Denyame, Sunyani, Techiman, and Tamale.

According to management, the main objective of the training is to strengthen the emotional intelligence capacity of staff, so they will remain driven and motivated individuals and ensure that they are emotionally intelligent enough to connect peacefully with themselves and clients to drive business peacefully and successfully.

Speaking at the end of the two-day training session, Mr. Eldon Moses Asamoah Otu, Head, of Technical Operations Northern Sector said the training is going to help them to build and maintain emotional safety at the workplace because the training has practically made them understand how to identify emotional dynamics and navigate emotional needs within challenging organisational situations to meet customer expectations.

The training was facilitated by Addison International Center for Emotional Intelligence (AICEI) and led by Ghana’s first internationally certified Emotional Intelligence Master Coach, James Kwesi Addison.

In his concluding remarks, James Kwesi Addison admitted that dealing with difficult or angry customers can be challenging and stressful, especially if you work in customer service or customer experience design such as the insurance industry. However, by applying emotional intelligence and professionalism, one can turn a negative situation into a positive one and improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
