Executives of the Subin Constituency have declared their support for the re-election of NPP General Secretary, Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong (JFK), in a strong show of confidence from the constituency.
The declaration was made during JFK’s campaign engagement with constituency executives from the Kumasi enclave in the Ashanti Region
Speaking on behalf of the executives, the Subin Constituency Women’s Organiser, Madam Ama Konadu Boateng, pledged what she described as their “unflinching and massive support” for JFK.
She said the decision was based on the belief that good performance deserves another mandate.
Madam Boateng drew a parallel with her own political experience, explaining that the people of Subin retained her as Women’s Organiser because they appreciated her work.
She said JFK similarly deserves another term because party members have witnessed his leadership, humility and reforms firsthand.
She added that JFK had demonstrated leadership and emotional intelligence at a time when the NPP needed it most.
According to her, the reforms introduced under his leadership are helping to energise the grassroots, strengthen party structures and restore confidence among members.
The endorsement is politically significant because Subin is the home constituency of former MP and NPP General Secretary aspirant, Eugene Boakye Antwi.
However, the executives who spoke at the engagement maintained that the contest should be determined by performance, temperament and the leadership required to guide the NPP towards the 2028 general elections.
They argued that the party should preserve the gains made under JFK rather than introduce a new learning curve at its national headquarters.
The executives said the NPP needs a General Secretary who understands the party’s structures, engages with the grassroots, builds consensus and possesses the emotional intelligence needed to unite the party.
For the Subin executives, JFK’s experience in office makes a strong case for continuity.
They therefore urged delegates to support his re-election and retain him as General Secretary as the party works to rebuild a stronger and united NPP ahead of the 2028 elections.
