The Terminal 3 car park at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) has officially been closed to make way for the construction of a modern seven-storey car park and hotel complex, as part of efforts to enhance passenger convenience and improve airport infrastructure.
The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) says alternative parking arrangements have been put in place to ensure uninterrupted services for passengers and visitors during the construction period.
The closure follows a public statement issued by GACL on July 16, announcing the temporary shutdown of the Terminal 3 car park ahead of the commencement of construction works. The company indicated that the project forms part of ongoing initiatives to modernise facilities at Ghana’s premier international airport.
According to GACL, the new development will comprise a seven-storey car park alongside a hotel complex designed to improve accessibility, increase parking capacity and enhance the overall travel experience for airport users. The project is expected to provide a long-term solution to the growing demand for parking at Terminal 3.
To minimise inconvenience, GACL has opened the Terminal 3 Car Park Annex as an alternative parking facility. The annex has the capacity to accommodate more than 600 vehicles and will serve passengers, airport users and visitors throughout the duration of the construction works.
The Ghana Airports Company Limited has urged the travelling public to cooperate with airport officials and follow directional signage to the new parking facility. The company also assured passengers that every effort will be made to maintain smooth operations while construction of the new multi-purpose complex is underway.
