Lawyer Obiri Boahene, a former Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and a leading member of the “Team Bawumia” campaign team has called the bluff of the supposed alliance against Bawumia.
This comes after another flagbearer aspirant in the impending presidential primaries, Boakye Kyeremanteng Agyarko, alleged that himself, and colleagues in the Flagbearership race are against the candidacy of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Boakye Kyeremanteng Agyarko in an interview with Accra based Citi TV mentioned that he and the other aspirants will throw their weight behind another aspirant against Bawumia in the event of a runoff.
He revealed that that with the exception of Bawumia, the rest of them communicate regularly and are likely take the collective decision against Vice President Dr Mahamudu when an opportunity presents itself.

Reacting to the development in an interview with host of Atinka FM’s AM Drive Kaakyire Ofori Ayim, Lawyer Obiri Boahene stated that the Bawumia campaign team is not shaken by the outbursts of Boakye Agyarko.
He opined that in as much as there can never be a run off, the Bawumia campaign team are steadily working towards winning and subsequently securing the seat for the NPP come 2024.
“There is never going to be a runoff and there can never be a runoff. Mark my words and put me on record. The 9 of them cannot determine the fate of Bawumia by forming an alliance and waiting for a runoff. These 9 are banking their hopes on delegates and they are still running with his information. These 9 are not even certain whether the delegates will vote for them,” he told Kaakyire Ofori Ayim.
Lawyer Obiri Boahene asked supporters of Bawumia not to be perturbed and that the vice President will win the primaries without a runoff.
