Former government spokesperson and New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications figure, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has broken his silence following his release from detention by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), declaring that he remains “unbroken” and more determined than ever to serve the party.

In a statement shared on his Facebook page on Tuesday, July 15, Aboagye claimed he was detained by EOCO just a day after announcing his intention to contest for the position of National Communications Director of the NPP.

“I am out. I am unbroken. And I am more ready than ever. Thank you patriots!” he wrote at the beginning of the statement.

According to him, he was picked up and detained four days ago, adding that false narratives emerged about the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

“A false narrative was put out about my arrest, but Ghanaians are not fools, and neither are the good people of the New Patriotic Party. The facts and the truth will prevail,” he stated.

Aboagye also firmly denied reports suggesting that EOCO questioned him over an alleged GH¢55 million matter.

“For the records: There was no discussion of any GH¢55 million cedis with me by EOCO. None!” he stressed.

The NPP communicator expressed gratitude to party supporters who publicly demanded his release, saying their solidarity gave him strength throughout his detention.

“To every party faithful who hit the streets, who raised their voices, who refused to be silent, I saw you. I heard you. From my detention, word of your protests reached me, and it kept my spirit standing tall,” he wrote.

He said the demonstrations were not only in support of him as an individual but also represented a defence of the principle that no voice should be silenced through intimidation.

Aboagye further maintained that the experience had strengthened rather than weakened his resolve to seek the party’s communications leadership.

“Let me be clear: if the intention was to break me, it has failed. If the intention was to scare me, it has failed spectacularly,” he stated.

He added that he remains committed to leading the NPP’s Communications Directorate and pledged to “command the narrative,” insisting that “no cell, no false story, no intimidation” would deter him from pursuing that goal.

Describing the episode as adding “fuel to the fire,” Aboagye thanked his legal team, the party leadership and supporters for standing by him during the period of detention.

“This journey is no longer mine alone. It is ours. We move. Stronger. Louder. Together,” he concluded.

EOCO is yet to publicly respond to Aboagye’s latest claims, including his assertion that he was never questioned over an alleged GH¢55 million matter.
