NACOC intercepts 152kgs of cocaine at Tema

Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has intercepted 152kgs of cocaine in Tema in the Greater Accra Region.

A statement from NACOC says the operation, that led to the confiscation of the 152kgs of cocaine, was carried out by a joint operation by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS).

According to the statement, the cocaine was concealed in a shipment of sugar from Brazil.

NACOC says preliminary investigations it had conducted revealed that the said consignment of sugar was to be delivered to Tradepass Gh Limited.

A number of persons have been arrested to assist security agencies with investigations.
