Abanga Yakubu, a candidate for the National Youth Organizer position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to mobilise at least four million votes for the party from Ghana’s youth population ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Mr. Yakubu, who has officially filed his nomination, said the ambitious target is achievable through aggressive grassroots mobilisation, unity, discipline and a well-coordinated youth strategy.
Speaking after filing his nomination, he said his decision to contest is driven by a strong commitment to rebuilding the NPP, strengthening its youth structures and improving the party’s electoral fortunes.
He pledged to commit financial resources to support youth mobilisation and grassroots activities, while working to reconnect the party with young voters across the country.
Mr. Yakubu stressed the need for the NPP to learn from its previous electoral setbacks and build an effective campaign machinery capable of winning back the confidence of Ghanaians.
He said he would work with party members at all levels to expand the NPP’s support base and ensure that the party’s message reaches every constituency.
He further pledged to help the NPP secure an additional 70 parliamentary seats, while contributing to the party’s broader goal of securing four million votes in the 2028 elections.
