Western Togoland "separatists" airlifted to Accra

Over thirty young men believed to be part of the Homeland Study Group Foundation (HSGF), a secessionist group, have been airlifted to Accra by the national security.

This comes after activists of Secessionist group in the Volta Region blocked major entry points into the Region as part of measures to push the government to give them their sovereignty.

The group particularly blocked roads in Sogakope and Mepe, disrupting the activities of residents and motorists who ply that route.

The group also attacked a police station and made away with weapons from their armoury.

The members of the group were received at the Airforce base in Accra for onward transport to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters of the Ghana Police.

Some of the exhibits picked up from them were flags which had inscriptions of the separatist group, Homeland Study Group Foundation (HSGF) on them.
