The Director of Atinka TV, Cynthia Akans, has reaffirmed the station’s commitment to empowering plus-size women, promoting Ghanaian culture, and delivering quality entertainment as the award-winning reality show Di Asa celebrates its 10th anniversary.
Speaking at the official launch of the 10th anniversary edition of the show at the DOR Event Annex in North Kaneshie, Ms. Akans described Di Asa as more than just a television programme, saying it has become a platform that celebrates the beauty, confidence, talent, and resilience of plus-size Ghanaian women.
She noted that over the past nine seasons, the dance reality show has transformed perceptions about plus-size women while showcasing Ghana’s rich cultural heritage through music, dance, and traditional attire.
“It has celebrated the beauty, confidence, talent, and resilience of Ghana’s plus-size women while promoting our rich culture and traditions,” she said.
Cynthia Akans said the 10th edition would build on the programme’s success and promised viewers an even bigger and better season.
She observed that the traditional kente outfits worn by participants and patrons at the launch reflected the show’s commitment to preserving Ghanaian culture while empowering women.
The Atinka TV Director expressed appreciation to the show’s loyal audience for supporting Di Asa from its inception to its current milestone.
“To our viewers, we say thank you so much for supporting Di Asa from season one to date,” she said.
She also acknowledged the contributions of the Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies, Elder Samuel Amo Tobbin; his wife, Mrs. Sika Araba Tobbin; Director of the Tobinco Group, Lawyer Abigail Tobbin; her fellow directors, managers, Sponsors, and other stakeholders whose support has sustained the programme over the years.
On behalf of the management of the Tobinco Group and Atinka TV, Madam Cynthia Akans assured Ghanaians that the anniversary edition of Di Asa would offer greater excitement and entertainment while remaining true to its mission of empowering women and preserving Ghanaian cultural values.
