S*x, pornography and masturbation have emerged among the most commonly mentioned addictions in a social media survey conducted by the Tobinco Media Group (TMG) Research Desk – Atinka TV.
The survey question, “What are you addicted to?”, attracted more than 370 responses from Ghanaians on Atinka TV’s social media platforms.
About 36% respondents mentioned sex and adult content, making it the second-largest category in the responses.
Money making, however, topped the overall list, with more than 39% respondents naming money-making, making more money and the daily hustle as their main addiction.
Phone use and social media followed with about 12% mentions, while food and drinks recorded about 10% responses. Popular foods mentioned included banku, kenkey, fufu and waakye.
Other respondents identified God, church and prayer, while others mentioned work, music, betting, gym activities and smoking.

The responses ranged from serious and personal comments to humorous answers, reflecting the different habits and interests of people who took part in the survey.
The findings also highlight how openly Ghanaians, particularly social media users, are discussing personal habits and lifestyle choices on public platforms.
